Position Overview
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Dubai, UAE to oversee environmental compliance and sustainability performance on major infrastructure and microtunneling projects. This role ensures strict adherence to UAE environmental regulations, Environmental Impact Assessment requirements, and project Environmental Management Plans while maintaining high standards of environmental protection and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with EIA, EMP, and Dubai Municipality, RTA, and MOCCAE regulations
• Implement and monitor environmental controls related to air quality, noise, vibration, soil, and water protection
• Manage environmental permits, approvals, and NOCs throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct routine environmental inspections and internal audits
• Monitor dust suppression, dewatering management, slurry disposal, and hazardous material handling
• Review and approve contractor method statements and environmental risk assessments
• Maintain environmental registers, compliance logs, and corrective action reports
• Prepare environmental monitoring and authority submission reports
• Supervise waste segregation, recycling programs, and landfill tracking systems
• Monitor chemical storage, fuel storage, and spill prevention measures
• Lead environmental audits with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities
• Close non conformities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote sustainability initiatives including carbon reduction and resource efficiency programs
• Track and report environmental KPIs to project leadership

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of environmental engineering or environmental management experience
• At least 3 years of UAE experience on major infrastructure projects
• Mandatory Dubai Municipality approval or equivalent regulatory certification
• Proven experience in microtunneling projects
• Strong knowledge of UAE environmental regulations and compliance frameworks
• Demonstrated experience with EIA and EMP implementation
