KBR has been appointed under a framework agreement with the largest developer in Abu Dhabi to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to Abu Dhabi's growth. This includes developing essential infrastructure such as transportation networks and utilities, alongside public spaces and involving also the shaping of thriving communities by managing the development of residential housing projects and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities, together with the development of mosques and maximizing urban space through infill development projects. This PMC role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on Abu Dhabi's built environment.
THE ROLE
Assists the KBR Environmental and Sustainability Manager in overseeing daily operations related to effective implementation of environmental management system requirements throughout the program of operations.
This role necessitates proactive monitoring and coordination with consultants and contractors to support compliance, advance environmental initiatives, and promote best practices in alignment with ALDAR Environmental Management System, relevant regulatory requirements and KBR's corporate philosophy of Zero Harm & Courage to Care.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactively monitors implementation of the ALDAR Environmental Management System and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Conduct sites' environmental inspections and audits.
• Verifies and checks site observation closeout reports, environmental reports and other relevant related processes and documentation.
• Promote environmental awareness by initiating or supporting the Client and KBR Corporate initiatives.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including but not limited to the clients, supervision consultants, contractors, third party consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Provides guidance and support to the project team on all environmental requirements, addressing environmental concerns and assisting in the resolution of related issues.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly environmental project monitoring plan

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor's degree in related science.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in environmental management in the construction industry
• ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience of previous work within ALDAR EMS is preferred.
• Preferred is experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or related consultancy.
• Minimum 5 years of Middle East work experience, Abu Dhabi experience preferred.
• Excellent report writing skills and experienced user of MS Office and Primavera
• Fluency in English language both written and spoken, Arabic speaking advantageous.

COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge and strong grasp of UAE's environmental regulatory frameworks, regulatory requirements and objectives
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with best international management practices, standards and frameworks related to environmental and sustainability aspects
• Experience in environmental reporting and familiarity with Environmental Key Performance Indicators.
• Ability to make decisions and solve environmental-related issues.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A proactive approach to risk management and conflict resolution.
