Job Description

Essential functions 1. Have thorough knowledge of the subject being taught 2. At the beginning of the academic year, evaluates the learnersaEUR(TM) strengths and weaknesses (diagnostic assessment and analysis), and categorize learners into: 3. Mainstreams: below-, on-, and above-level learners 4. Individualizes teaching to cater to all levels of learners, and provides assistance or attention to below-level learners during school hours 5. Prepares assignments, experiments, demonstrations, uses audio-visual teaching aids or other resources, and implements the teaching techniques suitable to the age and individualized needs of the learners and subject matter being taught 6. Develops daily lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum and guidelines of the Head of departments. The lesson plans should be prepared within the format supplied by Head of departments and handed in the soft copy to the Head of departments at least one week in advance 7. Clearly communicates the objectives of the lesson to the learners and display the objectives on the whiteboard at the beginning of each lesson 8. Engages learners in practical learning through hands-on activities and use of technology on a daily basis as well as projects whenever applicable; ensure that the learnersaEUR(TM) progress towards the mastery of the skill taught has been assessed and the lesson has been wrapped-up appropriately 9. Attends weekly faculty meetings 10. Implements the Discipline Policy - use appropriate mechanisms consistent with the school discipline policy and school philosophy 11. Be responsible for managing classes 12. Be in classrooms on time 13. Be prepared for all classes (no photocopying or sending for supplies is to be done during class time) 14. Ensures that learners remain in class until the end of the period 15. Checks staff rooms for notices and memos 16. Displays learnersaEUR(TM) work in designated areas in the classroom 17. Fulfills assigned break duties and substitution when required 18. Keeps communication records for parents meetings and learnersaEUR(TM) behavior 19. Resolves any issues with colleagues in a mature, direct and open manner 20. Provides work samples as requested by their respective Head of Department (work samples shall be analyzed and discussed in Faculty meetings) 21. Submits a back-up file of work to Resource Teacher 22. Prepares photocopies, make necessary lamination, and other artwork 23. In cases of absence, notify Deputy Principal and relevant Division Head 24. Be present at school no later than 7:20 a.m. and leave no earlier than 2:30 p.m. except on meeting days or once on duty 25. Coordinates any written correspondence to parents with the Division Head and handouts to learners with the Resource Teacher before papers are sent out 26. Submits suggested revisions to any given unit/chapter in the "reflections" section of the lesson plan to the Resource Teacher. Proposed changes to the curriculum begin by speaking to the Head of Department. Significant changes require the School Principal's approval. 27. Plays an active role in planning and implementing school functions 28. Formally assesses Head of Department/Division Heads/Leadership team and School Principal in December and March of every year 29. Serves on the Leadership team 2 weeks per year 30. Be at the assembly at 7:30 and in homeroom by 7:45 a.m. 31. Ensure that classroom is prepared 32. Collect attendance books from division office, take attendance and return book to office 33. Write down names of learners who are not in school uniform 34. Ensure that learners are ready to commence first period with all the required materials 35. Weekly report to division heads on the class notice boards 36. Work with Heads to ensure all classroom boards display learnersaEUR(TM) work, projects or any other material related to the class 37. Check agendas and ensure that learners have all required books in their bags 38. Distribute any letters, envelopes to the learners. (Make sure that all letters are distributed by the homeroom teacher to the learners) 39. Ensure that all learners clean and tidy the room before dismissal 40. Make sure all items of clothing, i.e. jackets are taken home 41. Ensure that all learners remain seated and do not stand at the entrance of the door until the bell rings Required Qualifications u B.A. in the specific field u Flexible personality and social capability to relate with diverse students u IT Skills Job Type: Full-time Salary: Up to AED3,000.00 per month Education:
