The English Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, contributing to curriculum development, supporting student academic success, and engaging in scholarly and institutional activities in line with the mission and academic standards of IAU University.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate English language and literature courses as per the approved curriculum.
Prepare course outlines, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in alignment with academic standards and accreditation requirements.
Employ innovative and student-centered teaching methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
Conduct continuous assessment, examinations, grading, and timely feedback to students.
Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and assessment documentation.
Curriculum & Academic Development
Contribute to curriculum design, review, and enhancement in line with industry and academic trends.
Participate in program accreditation, quality assurance, and academic audits.
Integrate technology and e-learning tools into teaching practices.
Research & Scholarly Activities
Engage in research, publications, and scholarly activities as per university research policies.
Participate in academic conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional development programs.
Contribute to research projects and academic initiatives within the department.
Student Support & Engagement
Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
Support student development through supervision of projects, presentations, and research work.
Encourage critical thinking, communication skills, and academic integrity.
Institutional Service
Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees.
Support academic events, workshops, seminars, and outreach activities.
Adhere to university policies, procedures, and professional ethics.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
PhD in English / English Language / Literature / Linguistics or a closely related field (Preferred).
Master's degree in English (mandatory if PhD is not completed).
Experience
Minimum
3 years of teaching experience
in higher education or a reputed academic institution.
Experience teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
Exposure to curriculum development, assessment design, and academic quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
Strong command of English language (written and verbal).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage diverse student groups effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Research orientation with publication potential.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Prior experience in an internationally accredited university.
