Position Overview
The Engineering Technician role at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upkeep of hotel facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for guests and associates. This position focuses on preventive maintenance, prompt response to repair requests, and adherence to Marriott engineering, safety, and quality standards within a large luxury hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and repair works across hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest repair issues assigned by supervisors
• Support preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and equipment failures
• Inspect equipment, systems, and facilities to identify faults or safety risks
• Assist in maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
• Ensure tools, work areas, and plant rooms are kept clean, safe, and organized
• Follow hotel SOPs, safety guidelines, and fire and life safety procedures at all times
• Document maintenance activities, repairs completed, and materials used
• Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and safety drills
• Support the engineering team during major repairs, refurbishments, or emergency situations
• Carry out additional engineering or maintenance duties as assigned by supervisors

Ideal Profile

• Technical diploma or vocational qualification in engineering, maintenance, or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general maintenance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong awareness of safety practices and attention to detail
• Physically able to perform maintenance tasks and work flexible shifts
