What We're Looking For

A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Engineering or Building Maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a Supervisory or similar role in a Luxury Hotel in the UAE or GCC. Trade Certification in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing or equivalent Qualification. Comprehensive knowledge of Building Systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm networks, Building Management Systems (BMS), and elevator operations tailored to Hospitality Environments. Proficient in reading Technical Drawings and interpreting Equipment Manuals. Previous experience in preventative maintenance programmes, energy conservation strategies, and sustainability practices will be Advantageous, demonstrating a Strong Commitment to Luxury Service Standards. Next-Level Organisational and Leadership skills, effectively leading and inspiring the FIVE Tribe to New Heights. A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensures every aspect of the Operation is perfectly curated. Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English (Additional languages are a Plus). Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the requirements of FIVE. A hands-on attitude, fuelled by a 'Can-Do!' Spirit.

Key Responsibilities

Supervises and Coordinates engineering shift operations, ensuring the Timely execution and completion of Maintenance Tasks across Guest Rooms, Public Areas, and Back-of-House facilities. Assigns, monitors, and follows up on Maintenance Activities performed by Technicians, guaranteeing adherence to FIVE's curated Standards and delivering seamless resolution of Technical Issues. Conducts regular inspections of all areas to verify that maintenance, safety, and exquisite aesthetic standards are Consistently Achieved. Oversees the performance and operational status of Building Systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Safety, and Mechanical Equipment, ensuring Flawless Functionality across the property. Maintains strict Compliance with preventive maintenance schedules and Verifies that task documentation and service logs are Accurately Recorded for audit readiness. Responds rapidly and decisively to Urgent Maintenance Requests or Emergencies, leading the Engineering Team to resolve issues with minimal disruption to the Guest Journey at FIVE. Liaises closely with other Departments to Coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring clear communication, buzzing Collaboration, and Uninterrupted operations. Assists in planning, supervising, and executing renovation and project work with Contractors and External Vendors, upholding bold Quality Standards and Timely Delivery. Supports the implementation of Sustainable Energy Initiatives and Visionary Practices that contribute to FIVE's environmental goals. Provides training, coaching, and leadership to 'FIVERs' within the Engineering Department, fostering a Culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Guides the Engineering Team in adopting disruptive Technical Solutions and modern Maintenance Approaches that elevate FIVE's reputation as a luxury lifestyle leader. Ensures Full Compliance with local regulations, health and safety policies, and 'FIVE-Styled' operational protocols across all Engineering Activities.
