The Engineering Supervisor oversees daily engineering operations, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and project activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role provides leadership to a team of engineers and technicians, coordinates resources, and supports the planning and execution of engineering projects to improve reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, coach, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and engineering projects.
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Engineering & Maintenance Operations
Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Review and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.
Project Management
Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects within budget and schedule.
Manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance.
Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new systems or equipment.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to company safety policies, regulatory standards, and environmental requirements.
Conduct safety inspections and participate in risk assessments.
Budgeting & Reporting
Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resource plans.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and project progress.
Generate reports and recommend improvements to management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and project management principles.
Proficient with CAD software, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and MS Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of safety and regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Experience in manufacturing, utilities, or plant operations environment.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.
Working Conditions:
Combination of office and field work.
May require occasional weekend or night shifts to support maintenance or project activities.
