Job Description

Job Summary:
The Engineering Supervisor cum Electrician oversees maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient functioning of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery. This role combines supervisory responsibilities with hands-on electrical work, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervisory Duties:

• Lead and supervise a team of technicians/electricians in daily maintenance tasks.
• Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Conduct training sessions for junior staff on safety protocols, electrical systems, and equipment handling.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment performance.
• Coordinate with other departments (production, facilities) to prioritize urgent repairs.

2. Electrical Maintenance & Repairs:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems (e.g., wiring, control panels, motors, generators).
• Troubleshoot electrical faults using testing devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes) and repair/replace defective components.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on electrical systems to ensure longevity and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) and workplace safety standards (OSHA, NFPA).
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, and automation systems (basic programming/troubleshooting may be required).

3. Engineering Support:

• Assist in project planning for electrical upgrades, equipment installations, or facility expansions.
• Review electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency or system reliability.
• Liaise with external contractors/vendors for specialized repairs or installations.

4. Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures and arc-flash safety measures.
• Investigate electrical incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
