Your Opportunity
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for the full remit of the delivery of Engineering Management services of the contract including operational and service provider team management, Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and specialist services. The successful individual will assist the Senior Management with the delivery of the strategic direction of both the engineering and some soft services within the contract by ensuring the effective management of a number of outsourced service providers, with the primary objective of ensuring that adequate management systems are in place to continually ensure a safe and compliant environment.

The ideal candidate should have good people management and interpersonal capability. Proven analytical capability and problem-solving skills. Someone who is an excellent communicator and motivator at multi levels.

This role is part of our Senior Management team at the prestigious Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

Key Accountabilities

Provides management and oversight of the outputs of the Engineering Department and their respective teams, to ensure service delivery in compliance with the Project Agreement

During periods of absence of a member of management team, additionally provides management and oversight wherever appropriate of the outputs of the business functions and applicable department.

Building long-term relationships with the Client is key Develops the strategy for the service delivery of the business Leads the management of reporting on contract performance for the Engineering Department within the contract and to the Client To manage the Engineering Department under his/her control ensuring that appropriate discipline, guidance, support, and moral welfare, are provided to all members of staff. To oversee the Stakeholder Management Plan, relating to Engineering Department, ensuring that key stakeholders engagement levels are monitored, and any negative feedback is escalated to the General Manager Continue to improve systems of communication, maintain business integrity, and improve knowledge of customer expectations and identify and address concerns of stakeholders The management and coordination of all MEP and Projects frontline Engineering management services and deliverables across the contract Line management responsibility for all MEP and Civil Staff including Supervisors, Team Leaders, Technicians, and assistants Deputised line manager responsibility for all other Engineering Management staff including project team, document controller and operations engineers
Engineering Management Services include but are not limited to, planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities for building fabric, MEP, specialist services systems and FF&E. Projects and variation works including fit outs, refurbishments and change of use requirements. Management and use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Life Cycle management, Space Planning, Moves and Changes, Document Control and including management of As Built Drawings, O&M Manuals and Technical Library To support with QHSE policies, procedures and systems that support a safe and professional work ethic and that it remains relevant and up-to-date ensuring that they are cognoscente of the Serco Management System and contract deliverables, UAE legislation, regulatory compliance, and industry best practice Provide direction and support to all direct reports staff for the resolution of issues, compliance and all department associated problems by way of mentoring and coaching techniques Meet the Key Performance Indicators (KPI\xe2\x80\x99s) and availability criteria\xe2\x80\x99s as per the contract Service Level Agreements (SLA\xe2\x80\x99s) To support with the production of monthly and annual operational reports to both specified timeframes and adhoc as required. Reports will detail measurement and monitoring of the Engineering Management services, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s and other relevant information. To assist with the preparation of Budgets, financial monitoring, and cost controls Support the implementation and management of continual improvement initiatives, projects, and programmes across all areas of the department including service delivery, staff engagement, cost reductions and innovation Perform and carry out other duties as instructed by the line manager or a member of the senior leadership team

Specific Requirements Minimum 7 years of experience in working as a senior engineer in a building services engineering department within a facilities management organization
Minimum 5 years of experience at an Operations Engineering Manager level managing multi-skilled maintenance team. Technically competent with a clear knowledge and experience of building services system, life safety and buildings controls systems.
Holder of a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. electrical or mechanical) Preferably with qualifications in Facilities Management related disciplines.
Practical experience of the built environment with a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
Proven experience of Integrated Facilities Management environment including operational delivery on multiple building facilities Proficient in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Adaptable to use company systems as required by the operations.
