Overview / Responsibilities:
"Wood in the UAE is looking to expand its Engineering capabilities in Abu Dhabi to address a significant pipeline of Offshore Oil and Gas facilities expansion projects, building on the current local capabilities and the wide experience available in the other Wood centers of excellence including in the UK and USA.
In support of this plan, we are looking for experienced Engineering Manager to join our Engineering team with a proven track record in executing both Onshore and Offshore projects from Select / Concept to Execute for clients in the middle east (ADNOC experience is desired / preferred) and globally".

- Manages / forecasts resources utilization, staffing levels, recruitment requirements for the project
- Manage and direct the Conceptual, FEED, Detailed engineering and Procurement effort
- Performing project or task management functions including COMPANY liaison, coordination of technical meetings, and general Project supervision and coordination.
- Manage Licensors/OEM Interaction as required
- Manage the procurement and subcontracting activities,
- Managing vendors to ensure control of scope, cost and schedule
- Ensure compliance with management of change on scope change
- Coordinate HSE studies including HAZID/ENVID/OHID, HSE Screening, QRA and HAZOP/SIL
- Coordinate Energy Review and Value Engineering workshops
- Create, update and issue Project Execution Procedures & Quality Plan as necessary
- Create, update and issue Master Document Register (MDR), detailed activities listing, and Engineering Deliverable Document Register (EDDR).
- Review Planning Package, including Baseline Schedule for any adjustment required to match the plan
- Carry out technical review(s) and workshops with COMPANY Representatives
- Oversee preparation of all the required multidiscipline documents,, reports within the project scope.
- Coordinate Material Requisition for the Long lead Items (LLIs).
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of the required documents including, but not limited to, Project Description, Scope of Work, WBS, Deliverables, Schedules, Project Control and Administration guidelines etc. for preparation of ITT document for EPC phase.
- Provide training for UAE Nationals.
- Prepare EPC phase overall Project schedule for the project.
- Prepare recommendation for implementation/execution strategies/plan.
- Development of PROJECT cost estimate (15%) and EPC Scope of Work
- Compilation of FEED Dossier to support Decision Support Package
- Familiar with ADNOC VAP Procedure
- A bachelor's degree in any / relavant Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with minimum fifteen 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, mainly being Offshore including minimum 5 years in in GCC region.
- Must have at least five 5 years of experience in similar position for mega Oil and Gas FEED projects
- Offshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desired.
- Previous experience of working for Wood is strongly preferred
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of discipline codes of practice, standards, and statutory documentation.
- Solid grasp of discipline engineering practices and techniques and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of discipline projects
- Must have thorough knowledge of engineering and construction practices relative to the discipline (Concept and FEED knowledge is particularly important)
- Experience in a senior management role, collaborating with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative marketing strategies. Capable of representing Company internally up to board level and externally to senior management Strong ethical standards
- High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
