Job Description

Overview
The Engineer - Technical Publications is a key role responsible for the development, management, and oversight of technical documentation supporting special mission aircraft in a military aviation environment. This position ensures that all technical manuals, maintenance instructions, and engineering documentation meet airworthiness, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance standards critical to mission success.



In addition to core responsibilities, this role collaborates closely with engineering, maintenance, and operational teams, managing documentation projects and providing expert guidance on technical publication processes to support fleet sustainment, capability upgrades, and urgent operational requirements.



Technical Documentation Development & Management

Prepare, review, and update technical publications such as maintenance manuals, repair instructions, service bulletins, and engineering drawings for special mission aircraft (e.g., ISR, EW, maritime patrol, or other specialized platforms). Ensure documentation complies with military standards, airworthiness requirements, and relevant regulations.

Coordination & Liaison

Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to gather technical information and incorporate revisions into documentation accurately and timely. Serve as the technical publications point of contact for internal teams and external regulatory bodies.

Quality Control & Compliance

Conduct thorough reviews and validation of technical documents to maintain accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. Implement document control practices including version control, distribution, and archiving to ensure the integrity of all publications.

Project Management & Support

Manage documentation projects supporting fleet sustainment, capability upgrades, and urgent operational taskings. Provide training and guidance to maintenance and operational personnel on the use and interpretation of technical publications. Nationality

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or related field (Master's preferred).


Experience
10+ years of experience in military aviation maintenance, engineering, or MRO, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.



In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems (e.g., sensors, communications, mission equipment).



Familiarity with military & civil maintenance regulations (e.g., USAF TOs, NATO, EASA standards, OEM tech data)



Strong project management skills (PMP or equivalent certification a plus).



Active security clearance or ability to obtain one (depending on contract requirements).
