XTG (Experience Technology Group)

, Project Engineers provide post-sales support to bring immersive and experiential projects to life in partnership with AVI-SPL offices around the globe. This engineering role will provide additional details about how a design approach will be realized, built, and configured to uphold the vision of the XTG pre-sales team and our growing network of creative partners.

XTG Project Engineers will create technical documentation, research solutions, coordinate information with partners and vendors, and support technical troubleshooting during the integration phase of a project, owning the outcomes of the final product.

XTG is a fully remote, global organization, and as such, this is a remote engineering position with an expectation of some on-site time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical oversight of a project from award through installation and completion, including creative technology engineering details and system configuration coordination for XTG and their partners Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness so that remote/regional delivery teams are able to understand design intent Perform peer-review, refinement and development of engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) coordination drawings, calculations and other pre-construction design and documentation Identify, address, and plan mitigation of technical or logistical impediments to delivering scope of work Identify special requirements for project, including but not limited to: contracted technical specialists, custom hardware, specialized tools, rigging support Participate in the design, planning and coordination of on-going change requests during project execution Plan, coordinate, and document equipment configurations for audio DSP, video processing, content playout, displays/projectors and other experiential systems, providing system programming support to project installation team when needed Test audio DSP or video processing systems software required for system functionality Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting when needed Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed Provide technical oversight on commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site Meet with current/prospective vendors to help evaluate products and learn about new creative or broadcast technologies Provide weekly project updates for Delivering Region's Project Manager and XTG Program Manager Coordinate with Delivering Region's Project Manager to assist with securing the necessary specialized personnel for installation Support Delivering Region's Project Manager in project hand-off to the installation team when needed Provide Delivering Region's Project Manager documented test results from system testing and commissioning Review project designs created by internal and external resources and submit to CAD resources Review field and shop red-line drawings, revise shop drawings to "as-built' status for submission to CAD resources


Travel to various job sites is required. Up to 30% travel, envisioned as short visits to active job sites for box walks, coordination with vendors, specialized engineering tasks, and training.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and current AVoIP technologies Ability to read, understand and augment AV infrastructure plans and architectural coordination drawings Ability to read, understand and augment AV signal flow diagrams Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu Demonstrated ability to apply BIM processes in design and construction documentation Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner Proven business writing skills Proficient with test and calibration equipment, particularly in a broadcast context Support user acceptance testing Ability to program, change and troubleshoot (AV Control, Show Control, audio processors) Ability to diagnose complex system problems including network and video issues Advanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment Ability to work and think independently and self-organize to meet deadlines Strong soft skills, effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards Valid Passport and ability to travel internationally is required

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred Past performance in immersive, experiential or creative job role preferred Experience with Show Control technologies (Disguise, Pixera, Touch Designer, etc) preferred. Minimum Seven years of AV experience is preferred A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is required. CTS-I preferred.
