Job Description

1. Scope of Responsibilities Operate as part of a team of engineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering works and provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted man-hour and project schedules. Must be proficient in computer skills and computer programming including PowerBI. Microsoft Azure and .net framework. 2. Primary Duties
  • Participate in the review of the ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions, review techno-commercial vendor offers, prepare equipment, material and man-hour estimates.
  • Participate in the review of contract requirements for project execution, organize the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work; review specifications and Data Sheets, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID\xe2\x80\x99s), Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Review Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings and other relevant documents. Establish contract review criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal.
  • Prepare the design basis, single line-diagrams, equipment and cable sizing calculations and other material and equipment analysis for client approval. Carry out short circuit load flow, voltage dips and transient stability studies using ETAP software. Perform design calculations for earthing, lightning protection, lighting, relay settings etc.
  • Organize and guide designers in the preparation of equipment and material specifications and data sheets, administer the development of detailed engineering calculations and drawings including the preparation of Load list/schedule Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Cable Schedules and Cable Drum Schedules, Interconnection Schedules, Hazardous Area Classification, Equipment Lay-outs, Cable Routing and Lay-out Drawings, Cable Trench/Tray Lay-out Drawings, Lighting System Lay-out and Details, Earthing/Lighting System Lay-out and Details, Heat Tracing Lay-out and Details, Installation Standard Drawings, Relay Coordination Drawings and other required documents.
  • Prepare technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), review vendor drawings and documents. Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and are within budgeted costs.
  • Review plot plans, organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for InterDiscipline Checks (IDC\xe2\x80\x99s) coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of technical data inputs.
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials. Ensure materials are obtained within scheduled timeframes and budgeted costs.
  • Meet with vendor representatives, inspect vendor works and workshops when required, provide dispatch clearance and test certificates.
  • Participate in HAZOP meeting with the client and representatives of other engineering disciplines.
  • Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers provide startup assistance as required.
  • Perform related duties as and when directed by Direct Supervisor.
3. Job/Cost Impact Responsible for the detailed technical work, acts as interface between department and lead, designers, procurement and other disciplines. Cost/delivery impact situations are reviewed by supervisors. 4. Decision Making Authority Decisions limited to the technical scope of project and specifications, consults with Supervisor on main issues which may affect layout and deviations from equipment specifications. 5. Physical Effort and Work Environment Duties performed in Main Office mostly in air-conditioned surroundings. Occasionally incumbent would require traveling to client/PMC offices, sites and occasionally visiting vendor workshops. 7. Minimum Job Requirement Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of related petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for consultancy organizations in the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry. Proficiency in computer skills and computer programming including PowerBI. Microsoft Azure and .net framework is mandatory.
