1. Scope of Responsibilities Operate as part of a team of engineers and designers in carrying out basic or detailed engineering works and provide necessary technical information for costing/procurement in compliance with tender specifications/guidelines and within budgeted man-hour and project schedules. 2. Primary Duties Participate in the review of the ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, provide process input to other disciplines, review techno-commercial vendor offers. Prepare the Technical Document Register (TDR) for process activities, plan and participate in the preparation and checking of the Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Utility Flow Diagrams (UFD’s), Heat and Material Balance, Utility and Instrument Flow Diagrams, Process Safety Diagrams, Material Selection Flow Diagrams (MSD’s), Equipment Data Sheets, and other required diagrams and documents. Identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation of technical queries to projects/client. Verify feasibility of process specification contained in the Feed Packages through the use of Process Simulation software such as HYSYS and PIPESIM. Perform comparison reports and evaluate Feed Data Sheets with heat-and-mass balance. Perform studies and prepare reports including calculation of equipment design conditions, equipment sizing case selection, equipment type selection. Prepare or check design and equipment calculations and diagrams for identification and verification of equipment requirements including calculations for valve sizes, pumps, vessels, exchangers, columns, safety valves, control valves, shutdown valves, line sizing, logic diagrams, logic diagrams, adequacy checks, Relief and Blow down and etc. Prepare sizing calculations, cause-and-effect charts, Heat and Mass balance calculations and shutdown logic for completion of P&ID’s, PFD’s and PDS sheets, provide input to the various downstream engineering disciplines for document preparation to vendors for Bid invitations. Review documents from downstream engineering disciplines. Ensure equipment compatibility and conformance with client specifications. Recommend cost effective improvements in design layouts and/or equipment specifications within the scope of client specifications and requirements. Organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC’s), coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs. Prepare Start up and Operations Manuals. Prepare Operational Test Procedures (OTP’s) when required. Participate in HAZOP meeting with the client and representatives of the other engineering disciplines. Review vendor documents and meet with vendor representatives when required. Interface and provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers provide startup assistance as required. Perform related duties as and when directed by Direct Supervisor. 3. Job/Cost Impact Technical work performed by incumbent, acts as interface between engineering disciplines in calculations and identification of equipment requirements and discrepancies. Work is normally reviewed by Supervisors. May be required to travel to site for data collection, site survey or commissioning assistance. 4. Decision Making Authority Decisions limited to the scope of project requirement specifications. Consults with supervisor on main issues which may affect equipment specifications and operational safety. 5. Supervisory Responsibility None
7. Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Refer to HR/ OD - Competency Management System (CMS) 8. Physical Effort and Work Environment Duties performed in Main Office mostly in air-conditioned surroundings. Occasionally would require traveling to sites/satellite offices. 9.
