We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our ship repair and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in mechanical fitting, alignment, and working with various shipboard machinery and components. This is a hands-on role requiring technical precision and the ability to work in demanding marine environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical fitting, dismantling, and alignment of ship machinery and systems.
Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, engines, gearboxes, and deck machinery.
Perform shaft alignment, coupling fitting, and other precision mechanical tasks.
Work from technical drawings and specifications to complete tasks to required tolerances.
Assist in dry dock and afloat repair operations.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Coordinate with supervisors and other technicians to complete jobs on schedule.
Requirements:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in marine mechanical fitting or shipyard work.
Proficiency in mechanical assembly, fitting, and alignment techniques.
Good understanding of shipboard systems and components.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools.
Physically fit and capable of working in confined or elevated spaces.
