Job Title: Energy / Economic Modeler
Location: Dubai Office, Dublin, Ireland
Job Summary and Description:
The ideal candidate would have:
- An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in economics, operations research, energy resources, computer science, systems engineering or related education;
- Experience in building an energy sector optimization or simulation model to answer economic questions
- Experience conducting economic analyses to answer market, policy, and/or technology research questions;
- Experience at running energy-economic models in at least one high-level modeling system for mathematical programming, optimization, and economics, such as GAMS, AMPL, Matlab, R, Python, or similar educational experience;
- Excellent research and writing skills; strong oral communications skills; ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- A positive attitude, comfortable working both collaboratively and independently.
- Experience and interest in developing and contributing to cutting-edge research and communicating transfer of knowledge;
- Experience with or interest in project budgeting, scheduling, creating written deliverables.
Some travel (10-15%) is expected to support conferences, meetings, and company visits.
