Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Elementary class teacher for Abdulla Bin Otaiba (ABO) Charter School in Abu Dhabi to start from Academic Year 2023-24 ABO is a large and thriving Charter School, following the US Curriculum, AERO standards. There are @ 1500 students enrolled at the school, from KG1 to Grade 5. The ABO aim is to be a collaborative, student centered school, to constantly develop staff, to develop stakeholder voice and to keep evolving in our practice, so demonstrating a change agent attitude. The successful candidate must have a secure knowledge of teaching and learning and a track record of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and plug gaps in learning. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate leadership skills/experiences at a variety of levels. The successful candidate will be able to model outstanding planning and teaching and learning strategies, with an understanding of priorities to move a grade group forward and to be effective in working collaboratively in a team. RESPONSIBILITIES Planning, Preparation, Teaching and Lesson Management To teach allocated students by planning their teaching to achieve outstanding progression of learning through:
  • Creating a climate that is conducive for outstanding learning and teaching
  • Planning collaboratively with grade group colleagues
  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and success criteria and specifying how they will be taught and assessed;
  • Setting tasks which differentiate between and challenge students and ensure high levels of interest;
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations; maintaining pace, motivation and challenge;
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment;
  • Identifying SEN or gifted and talented pupils
  • Making effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study;
  • Making effective use of performance data and key indicators to inform planning
  • Safeguard students\xe2\x80\x99 health and safety
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with ABO\xe2\x80\x99s Behaviour Policy and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework;
  • Using a variety of teaching methods to:
  • match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary
  • use effective questioning, listen carefully to students, and give attention to errors and misconceptions
  • elect appropriate learning resources and ICT and other learning technologies effectively
  • Evaluating own teaching critically to improve effectiveness;
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support.
  • Mark and monitor students\' work and set targets for progress
  • Assess and record students\' progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and areas for development, inform planning and recognise the level at which the student is achieving
  • Prepare and present informative reports to parents and other professionals as requested
  • Take part in the review and development of action plans which identify clear targets and success criteria
  • Contribute the review and development of the curriculum and assessment arrangements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education or Bachelor in relevant major and PGCE or equivalent Teaching Qualification

Minimum Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Elementary/ Primary Teacher

Job Specific Knowledge and Skills
  • A good knowledge of Elementary/ Primary pedagogy
  • A knowledge of US Curriculum is desirable but not essential
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
