Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ELV Technician to join our team. The ELV Technician plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various low-voltage systems, including security, data, telecommunications, and audio-visual systems. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. - Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain various ELV systems, such as CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, fire alarms, data networks, audio-visual equipment, and telecommunication systems.
- Alarm Coding: Registered with SIRA alarm coding, e-Guard and video guard knowledge and experience.
- Wiring and Cabling: Properly install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat 5/6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, to ensure optimal system performance.
- Equipment Setup: Configure and program ELV equipment, such as security cameras, intercom systems, and networking devices, to meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting procedures to identify and rectify system malfunctions, ensuring system functionality and performance.
- Compliance: Adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure safety and compliance with established guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, installation details, and service reports. Provide comprehensive documentation to clients and project managers.
- Client Communication: Interact with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and offer solutions for ELV system improvements or upgrades.
- Quality Control: Execute quality control procedures to ensure all ELV systems meet performance standards and client expectations.
- Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Possess strong knowledge in Mechanical and basic electrical principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
- Technical Documentation: Demonstrate the capability to read, analyse, interpret drawings, schematics and service manuals. Stay informed and knowledgeable about all relevant repair manuals.
- Proficiency with Workshop Equipment: Be well versed in the use of relevant workshop equipment and tools, must be able to write reports.
- Effective Communication Skills: Exhibit strong communication skills both written & verbal, ability to provide exceptional customer service in accordance with established standards.
- Basic Computer Skills: Possess fundamental computer skills necessary for the role.
- Diploma or equivalent course in Electronics/Electrical
- SIRA Technician Certificate
- Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
