Key Responsibilities1. Assistance in Electrical Maintenance
Support qualified electricians during installation, repair, and maintenance of
control panels, wiring, relays, switches, sensors, and indicators
.
Help in
wiring terminations
, connecting cables, tightening panel components, and labeling circuits.
Assist in mounting electrical panels, conduit installations, and cable tray works.
2. Equipment & System Support
Aid in the testing of
LPG plant control panels
,
motor control centers (MCCs)
, and
safety interlock systems
under supervision.
Carry tools, materials, and test instruments to job sites and maintain them in good condition.
Clean electrical panels, remove dust, and ensure proper housekeeping around control equipment.
3. Safety & Compliance
Follow all
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
rules while working in
hazardous/explosion-prone (Ex-rated)
zones.
Ensure power is properly isolated before work begins and follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
Use appropriate
personal protective equipment (PPE)
and maintain a safe working environment.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Report any electrical issues, faults, or abnormal conditions immediately to the supervisor.
Maintain records of tools used, jobs completed, and materials issued.
Support preventive maintenance routines as per the daily work schedule.
5. Teamwork & Learning
Work closely with electricians, instrumentation technicians, and control engineers.
Observe and learn basic troubleshooting of control panels, relays, and protective devices.
Attend on-the-job training to improve technical knowledge and safety awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
High School / ITI Certificate
in Electrical or related trade (preferred).
1-3 years of experience
assisting electricians in industrial or LPG/gas plant environments.
Basic understanding of electrical safety, wiring tools, and control panel components.
Knowledge of hazardous area precautions (Ex-rated equipment) is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Basic electrical knowledge (cables, connections, tools).
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor or confined areas.
Eager to learn and follow instructions carefully.
Team player with a strong commitment to safety and reliability.
Willing to work shifts or during plant shutdowns.
Working Conditions
Work may involve exposure to LPG gases, noise, and heat (with proper PPE provided).
Standing, lifting, and working with tools for extended periods.
Must follow all
plant safety rules and emergency procedures
.
Example Duties in a Typical Day
Assist in checking control panel voltages and signal lights.
Help test safety interlocks for LPG compressors and filling systems.
Prepare wiring harnesses for new control panel installations.
