Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities of Electrician

1. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, panels, and control circuits. Diagnose and rectify faults in lighting, power distribution, DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, and MCC panels. Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement permanent solutions.

2. Panel Board & Control System Expertise

Install, inspect, and maintain electrical panel boards, breakers, contactors, and control relays. Carry out testing and termination of cables, control wiring, and load balancing. Interpret and work from single-line diagrams, control schematics, and as-built drawings. Support in modifications or upgrades of panel boards and electrical distribution systems.

3. Installation & Commissioning Works

Supervise and execute installation of electrical wiring, DBs, isolators, and equipment connections. Test and commission new installations to ensure compliance with design and safety standards. Ensure proper labeling, identification, and documentation of all panels and circuits.

4. Preventive Maintenance & Safety Compliance

Schedule and perform regular inspection of switchgear, earthing, and lighting systems. Ensure all works comply with local authority (DEWA/ADDCD) standards and company HSE policies. Follow lockout-tagout (LOTO) and use PPE while performing maintenance activities.

5. Team Supervision & Coordination

Guide and train junior electricians and technicians on proper work practices. Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, and civil teams for integrated maintenance works. Support facility engineers and supervisors during site inspections and client visits.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, and panel load records. Report abnormalities, overloading issues, or equipment deterioration to supervisors. Assist in preparing material requests, work permits, and handover reports.

7. Emergency Support & On-Call Duty

Attend emergency breakdowns promptly and restore electrical systems efficiently. Provide standby support during critical operations or events.

8. Energy Efficiency & System Improvements

Recommend energy-saving solutions, load balancing, and system optimization. Support retrofitting of LED lighting, automation controls, and power factor correction systems.
