Responsibilities
1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems within the oil industry.
2. Follow safety protocols and maintain safe working conditions for self others in the workplace.
3. Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and engineering specifications.
4. Install, troubleshoot, and repair motor control circuits, power distribution circuits, PLC programs and other control systems.
5. Perform calibration and testing of instrumentation.
6. Keep inventory of tools, parts and equipment, and ensure their safe storage and disposal.
7. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and update computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
8. Knowledge and ability to read electrical diagrams; understanding the dangers of electric current.
Skills:
1. Electrical equipment, knowledge of various electrical equipment such as pumps, motors, transformers, generators, and switchgear.
2. Electrical codes, knowledge of local and national electrical codes
3. Control systems, knowledge of control systems used in the oil industry,
Such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
4. Instrumentation, knowledge of instrumentation used in the oil industry
Such as pressure transmitters, flowmeters, and level sensors
