Electrical Technician - Street Lighting Maintenance

Location: Al Ain, UAE

Role Purpose

To perform corrective and preventive maintenance of street lighting systems -- including luminaires, cut-out boxes, gateways, and smart control nodes -- ensuring reliable, safe, and energy-efficient operation across the municipality's network in line with Dalkia Middle East and Al Ain Municipality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of street lighting luminaires, cut-out boxes, gateways, and control nodes.

Diagnose and repair electrical and communication faults within the lighting network.

Replace defective components such as drivers, fuses, ignitors, photocells, or smart nodes.

Record all activities, materials, and before/after photos in the Smart O&M / PLMS mobile system.

Coordinate with Traffic Management Drivers and Helpers to ensure safe road conditions during night work.

Support the Electrical Team Leader and O&M Engineer in implementing preventive maintenance programs and achieving service KPIs.

Comply with QHSE procedures, work-permit requirements, and site safety instructions at all times.

Participate in field inspections, night surveys, and system communication checks as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering / Industrial Electricity.

Minimum 3 years' experience in street lighting or electrical maintenance.

Strong knowledge of

LV systems

(

230/400V

) and Smart / IoT lighting controls.

Familiarity with CAFM / PLMS or similar maintenance reporting tools.

Valid UAE electrical competency or trade license preferred.

UAE Driving License.

Skills & Competencies

Excellent troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis abilities.

Proficient in electrical testing instruments (multimeter, insulation tester, clamp meter).

Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and field layouts.

Team-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently at night.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3.00 - AED4.00 per month
