Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated

Electrical Technician

to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems, including solar PV, hybrid power plants, and energy storage systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe electrical operations across a portfolio of off-grid and grid-connected energy sites.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Install, wire, and commission electrical components for solar PV systems, inverters, hybrid diesel systems, and related infrastructure. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including panels, inverters, transformers, and diesel gensets. Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits and renewable energy components. Assist with on-site testing, commissioning, and performance verification of systems. Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Follow safety protocols and electrical standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) for all work performed. Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and system performance records. Support remote monitoring and control systems and assist with data collection for performance analysis. Collaborate with engineering and project teams on site layout and installation planning.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field. Certified Electrician (preferred) Valid electrical license or trade certification (where applicable) 2+ years of experience in electrical installation or maintenance, preferably in the renewable energy or industrial power sector. Hands-on experience with solar PV, battery storage, or hybrid systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of electrical safety, wiring, and troubleshooting practices. Familiarity with solar inverters, gensets, charge controllers, and metering systems. Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools. Strong attention to detail and safety Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and in remote or off-grid locations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SCADA or remote energy monitoring systems Ability to interpret SLDs and electrical layouts Familiarity with renewable energy software tools (e.g., PVsyst, Homer)
