Job Summary

:

The HVAC, Electrical, and Kitchen Ecology Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, and kitchen ecology units (e.g., exhaust hoods, grease traps, odor control systems). The role ensures compliance with safety standards and optimal operation of commercial kitchen environments.

Key Responsibilities

:

1. HVAC Responsibilities

:

Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including split units, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and AHUs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as refrigerant leaks, faulty thermostats, compressor failures, and airflow problems. Conduct preventive maintenance checks (e.g., filter replacement, coil cleaning, lubrication). Monitor energy efficiency and recommend system upgrades or adjustments. Maintain accurate service records and logs.

2. Electrical Responsibilities

:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, outlets, and control systems in kitchen and facility environments. Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate tools and testing devices. Ensure all electrical work complies with local codes and safety regulations. Replace faulty components such as breakers, switches, and contactors. Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.

3. Kitchen Ecology System Responsibilities

:

Install and maintain kitchen ecology units, including exhaust hoods, ducting, odor control systems, and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs). Clean and maintain grease traps, filters, fans, and air ducts to prevent fire hazards and ensure air quality. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of ecology units as per local health and fire codes. Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions in ventilation and extraction systems. Coordinate with third-party vendors for deep cleaning, if needed.

Skills and Qualifications

:

Diploma or certification in HVAC, Electrical Technology, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVAC, electrical maintenance, or kitchen ecology. Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC components, and ventilation systems in commercial kitchens. Understanding of safety codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC), and local building codes. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in confined spaces.

Certifications (Preferred)

:

EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification (for HVAC). Licensed Electrician (if required by region). Fire and safety compliance training.

Work Environment

:

On-site work in commercial kitchens, restaurants, hotels, and facility plant rooms. May require weekend or evening shifts and emergency callouts. Exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous conditions.
