Our client is a leading operator in the oil & gas / energy sector executing critical infrastructure and maintenance projects in the Dukhan Field. Committed to excellence, safety, and compliance, they are seeking experienced Electrical Site QC Inspectors to ensure the highest standards of quality in electrical equipment, installations, and related systems.
Position Summary
The Electrical Site QC Inspector will be responsible for performing detailed inspection and quality assurance activities of electrical equipment, materials, and installations. The inspector must be fully conversant with applicable industry standards and specifications, and capable of executing a variety of inspection functions with minimal supervision to verify supplier and contractor compliance with purchase order and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Execute inspections of electrical equipment, materials, and field installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards (NEC/NFPA 70, IEC or equivalent), and client purchase orders.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
Perform site surveillance and inspection of electrical installations, including hazardous location identification, wiring, cable trays, grounding, distribution panels, motor control centers, and related systems.
Verify fabrication methods, material traceability, and test records of supplied electrical components.
Coordinate and witness electrical testing procedures (e.g., insulation resistance tests, continuity, megger, grounding verification) as per project quality plans.
Inspect cathodic protection equipment when applicable, ensuring conformity to NACE or equivalent corrosion protection standards.
Maintain detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and acceptance documentation.
Interface with suppliers, contractors, and client quality assurance teams to resolve inspection findings.
Ensure implementation of ISO 9001 quality system requirements during inspection activities.
Participate in pre-inspection meetings, hold points, and release protocols.
Enforce safety and site-specific procedures; report any deviations or safety hazards immediately.
Assist in root-cause analysis for repeated non-conformities when applicable.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Language:
Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Experience:
Minimum of
10 years
of inspection experience in manufacturing plants or industrial environments, with at least
2 years
in the specific electrical commodity and processes being inspected (oil & gas / petrochemical sector strongly preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
Thorough working knowledge of the
National Electrical Code (NEC)/NFPA 70
,
IEC
, or equivalent standards.
Working knowledge of electrical installations, materials, methods, and specifications, including hazardous area classification in oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
Knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality management system requirements and their practical implementation in inspection workflows.
Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and data sheets.
Cathodic Protection (if applicable):
Inspector must demonstrate knowledge of
NACE
or equivalent corrosion protection standards when inspecting cathodic protection systems.
Independence:
Capable of executing inspection duties with minimal supervision and escalating appropriately.
Reporting:
Strong documentation skills--able to prepare clear, concise, and accurate inspection reports and NCRs.
Preferred / Additional Certifications (if held)
Certified Quality Inspector or equivalent (e.g., ASQ)
Electrical inspection certification from recognized bodies
Safety certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH - if relevant to site)
Training in Hazardous Area Classification and Inspection
Familiarity with client-specific inspection software or digital QA/QC platforms
Personal Attributes
Detail-oriented with analytical mindset
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ethical, transparent, and able to maintain objectivity in inspection findings
Physically fit to perform site walks and inspections in industrial field conditions
Work Conditions
Field-based role in Dukhan Field; may require access to industrial zones, restricted areas, and working at heights or confined spaces depending on assignment.
Must comply with all site safety and PPE requirements.
Contractor will be on call; deployment will be based on project needs (call-off).
Rotational shifts may apply depending on inspection schedules.
