Job Description

An Electrical QA/QC Engineer ensures all electrical installations, materials, and testing comply with project specifications, drawings, and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE). Key duties include developing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), conducting site inspections (material receiving, cable laying, commissioning), issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and maintaining quality documentation.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:



Documentation & Planning:

Prepare and review ITPs, method statements, and quality checklists. Verify that only the latest approved shop drawings and IFC (Issued For Construction) documents are used on-site.

Inspection and Testing (QC):

Conduct inspections of incoming electrical materials (panels, cables, transformers). Perform, witness, and document electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities (e.g., Megger testing, grounding checks, loop checks).

Quality Assurance (QA):

Implement the project quality management system and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Conduct internal audits to verify the quality of work.

Non-Conformance Management:

Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for work that does not meet specifications. Monitor the rectification and closure of these items.

Coordination & Reporting:

Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality inspection reports.

Site Safety & Compliance:

Ensure all calibrated testing equipment is used and that installations adhere to safety regulations.

Key Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations. Experience in, for example, high voltage systems, low voltage systems, or instrumentation, often ranging from 5-10 years for senior roles. Proficiency in reviewing technical documents and drawings.
