: Electrical Project Engineer (MEP Field)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing electrical design, installation, and commissioning activities for various construction projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

Develop and review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for MEP projects.

Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Prepare detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans for electrical works.

Technical Oversight:

Ensure all electrical systems comply with local authorities' regulations (e.g., AD Electric, Civil Defense) and international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS).

Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

Troubleshoot technical issues and provide innovative solutions to challenges during project execution.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

Evaluate and approve material submittals, shop drawings, and method statements from contractors and suppliers.

Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Testing & Commissioning:

Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems, including LV/HV panels, transformers, generators, lighting, fire alarm systems, and HVAC controls.

Ensure proper documentation of test results, as-built drawings, and operation manuals.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):

Ensure all electrical work complies with HSE policies and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards on-site.

Reporting & Communication:

Prepare progress reports, variation orders, and cost estimates for senior management and clients.

Maintain clear communication with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or MEP systems are highly desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the MEP field, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.

Proven track record of managing large-scale MEP projects in residential, commercial, or industrial sectors.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design software.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage (LV), high voltage (HV), lighting, fire alarms, and building management systems (BMS).

Familiarity with energy-efficient and sustainable design practices is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Language:

Conversational in English (written and spoken). Tamil/Hindi is an advantage.

Additional Requirements:

Valid UAE driving license is preferred.

Willingness to travel within Abu Dhabi and other Emirates as required.
