Electrical Mechanical Inspector - AECOM Middle East - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
This Electrical Mechanical Inspector role at AECOM Middle East in Dubai focuses on daily inspection, supervision, and quality verification of electrical and mechanical works for stormwater drainage systems, pumping stations, and related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical installations including pumps, motors, control panels, cabling, valves, and piping
• Verify installations against approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications
• Monitor alignment, testing, and commissioning of pumping station systems
• Inspect cable containment, routing, termination, earthing, and control wiring for compliance
• Supervise mechanical piping networks, fittings, supports, and stormwater mechanical systems
• Ensure materials and equipment meet approved submittals and are stored and handled properly
• Witness and record testing activities including insulation resistance, continuity, performance, and functional tests
• Monitor HVAC, power, lighting, instrumentation, and control works within pumping stations
• Verify as-built data and coordinate redline updates with contractors
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements, IRs, and ITPs
• Assist engineers with observations, NCRs, and corrective action follow-up
• Verify calibration certificates and testing instruments used by contractors
• Monitor HSE practices during M&E installation activities
• Maintain records of manpower, equipment usage, and material deliveries
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve interface issues with other disciplines

Ideal Profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical inspection for stormwater, drainage, or pumping station projects
• Strong experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, valves, switchgear, control panels, and mechanical systems
• UAE experience with RTA and Dubai Municipality standards preferred
• Knowledge of microtunneling-related systems is an advantage
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and testing protocols
• Excellent documentation, coordination, and communication skills
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, DEWA, Civil Defense, and local regulations
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and testing documentation tools
