To ensure that all electrical works at project sites are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority regulations. The Electrical Engineer / Inspector is responsible for supervising, reviewing, and inspecting electrical installations, coordinating with the MEP team, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of all electrical works.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Inspection
Perform regular site inspections for electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
Monitor construction progress, workmanship quality, and adherence to project schedules.
Verify installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions to ensure compliance.
2. Technical Review & Compliance
Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for technical accuracy and conformity with design intent.
Ensure compliance with DEWA, Etihad Water & Electricity, and other relevant authority requirements.
Assist in resolving design or site-related technical issues in coordination with the MEP and design teams.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare inspection reports, site observations, and progress documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, inspection logs, and checklists.
Support project engineers in preparing snag lists and handover documentation.
4. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
Attend progress and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.
Report key issues, delays, or risks to the Senior MEP Engineer or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
5-8 years of relevant site experience in electrical supervision or inspection. Successfully completed at least two full construction projects
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of DEWA and Etihad Water & Electricity regulations. Familiarity with electrical codes and standards applicable in the UAE
Soft Skills / Competencies:
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and reporting skills
Languages:
English (required); Arabic (advantage)
