Job Description

Designs electrical systems and prepares drawings and layout for Hospital projects and provides on-site supervision.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Communicates with the Hospital’s Departments at various levels to discuss and identify needs and requirements. 2. Designs and/or supervises the design of a variety of electrical systems. 3. Conducts on-site inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with all recognized standards and contract specifications. 4. Coordinates electrical systems with architectural components and other disciplines. 5. Prepares technical specifications for Bill of Quantities and reviews bid documents. 6. Prepares project request evaluations, technical reports and cost estimates. 7. Reviews and evaluates electrical design drawings and specifications prepared by others. 8. Supervises on-site construction for compliance with the contract’s technical specifications and testing of electrical systems performed by the contractor and provides detailed test reports. 9. Provides construction progress reports and punch lists. 10. Ensures electrical safety requirements during construction and issues notices of violation where unsafe conditions exist then conduct follow up inspections. 11. Reviews change orders, substitutions and monthly claims for payment. 12. Coordinates with clients and contractors without supervision in presentations, proposals and field work. 13. Assists in resolving complex technical problems and coordinates problem resolution.
Education
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Three (3) years of related experience with Master’s or five (5) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Knowledgeable of US codes and standards including NFPA/NEC.
  • Proven record in the design and construction supervision of electrical systems in new and existing buildings in a large health care facility.
  • Non-Saudi Engineers must obtain minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Saudi Council of Engineers license is required.
