PES ENGINEERING was born from the Engineering Division of PES, founded in 1979, and currently has over 200 permanent engineering staff, boasting significant experience in the Oil & Gas, Power, Renewable Energy, Chemical, Petrochemical, and Automotive sectors.
PES ENGINEERING provides technical and engineering services (Civil, Rotating Machinery, Static Equipment, Process, HSE Design, Electro-instrumental, Layout & Piping), offering over 200,000 engineering hours per year to all major Oil & Gas Companies, EPC Contractors, Industrial Manufacturers, etc.
Currently, PES ENGINEERING has 8 offices in Italy: HQ in Rosignano Solvay (LI), Livorno, San Donato Milanese, Florence, Rome, Bari, Vibo Marina (VV), and Gela.
Abroad, PES ENGINEERING is present in three countries (UK, Romania, UAE). In addition, a series of strategic partnerships, signed on virtually every continent, support the company in carrying out multidisciplinary engineering, service, service management, inspection & expediting, and recruitment & hiring of local personnel.
An Electrical Engineer in Oil & Gas designs, . They manage everything from low-voltage instrumentation (sensors, meters) to high-voltage power systems, using tools like P&IDs and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to control pumps, valves, and monitoring equipment, while integrating new tech like IoT for remote monitoring and optimization.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Create electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications for projects (e.g., drilling rigs, refineries).
  • Power Systems: Manage power generation, distribution, and motor control systems for equipment.
  • Instrumentation & Control: Specify and maintain sensors, flow meters, transmitters, and control systems (DCS, PLC).
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure designs meet hazardous area classifications (Zones/Divisions) and international standards (IEC/NEC) to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process engineers, technicians).
  • Hazardous Environments: Selecting explosion-proof equipment for classified (hazardous) areas.
  • Automation: Implementing automation for remote monitoring and control of processes.
  • Energy Efficiency: Optimizing systems to reduce energy consumption.
  • Documentation: Creating and interpreting technical documents like Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
  • Experience: Relevant experience in energy/oil & gas (3+ years often preferred).
  • Certifications: Hazardous area certifications (IECEx, ATEX), professional engineering licenses (PE) are valuable.
