Job Description

Job Purpose:

To design, plan, supervise, and execute electrical works in building construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety regulations. The Electrical Engineer coordinates with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and safe electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Review electrical drawings, designs, and specifications. Prepare load calculations, cable sizing, and single-line diagrams (SLDs). Coordinate with consultants for design approvals and modifications. Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, ELV, fire alarm, etc.). Ensure work is executed as per approved shop drawings, standards, and method statements. Monitor progress and provide technical solutions to site issues. Ensure electrical works comply with international standards (NEC, IEC, BS, NFPA) and local regulations. Inspect materials and equipment delivered to site for quality compliance. Verify subcontractors' work and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures. Liaise with project managers, civil, mechanical, and QA/QC teams for smooth execution. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for timely material delivery and installation. Attend meetings with consultants and clients for technical discussions and approvals. Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals. Maintain site records, test reports, and inspection requests (IRs). Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Ensure electrical safety practices are followed on-site. Conduct risk assessments for electrical works and implement preventive measures. Support HSE team in maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum

8 years of experience

in electrical engineering, preferably in building construction projects. Knowledge of building electrical systems (MV, LV, ELV, lighting, power, fire alarm, BMS). Familiarity with local authority approval processes

(e.g., Kahramaa, Civil Defense - for Qatar projects).
