Job Description

The

Electrical Draughtsman

is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). The role supports electrical engineers and site teams in planning and executing electrical installations for construction projects, ensuring all drawings comply with relevant standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed

electrical drawings

including layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, lighting, power, and fire alarm systems using AutoCAD/Revit or similar. Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements. Update and revise existing drawings based on engineering changes or site conditions. Coordinate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, architectural) to ensure proper integration of electrical systems. Prepare

as-built drawings

after project completion based on site modifications. Maintain drawing files, document revisions, and drawing logs in an organized manner. Assist engineers in preparing

load schedules

,

panel schedules

, and

BOQs

(Bill of Quantities). Follow applicable

national and international electrical codes

(e.g., NEC, IEC). Participate in

site visits

to gather information or verify installations as per drawings. Ensure timely delivery of drawings and documents to meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 2-5 years of experience as an Electrical Draughtsman in the construction industry. Experience in residential, commercial, Schools projects is preferred. Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and other drafting software; Revit MEP is a plus. Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards. Ability to read and interpret construction and electrical drawings. Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
