with proven experience in UAE building and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing electrical design packages, ensuring compliance with local authority standards, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines throughout all project stages.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Engineering
Prepare, review, and update electrical design drawings (power, lighting, ELV, load schedules, etc.).
Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and equipment sizing.
Prepare single line diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, and schematic drawings.
Design lighting systems, small power systems, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and low-current systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, etc.).
Select materials, equipment, and devices as per project requirements and international standards.
Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and civil teams for integrated MEP design.
Ensure all electrical designs comply with UAE codes, local authority standards (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA, Civil Defense, etc.), and international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA).
Assist in obtaining NOCs, approvals, and permits from authorities.
Documentation & Project Support
Prepare technical reports, BOQs, design calculations, and specifications.
Provide technical support during tendering, bidding, and construction phases.
Review shop drawings, material submittals, and respond to RFIs from contractors.
Conduct site visits to verify installation quality and compliance with design intent.
Support commissioning activities and final project handover.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
Minimum
4 years proven experience in MEP design within UAE
.
Strong knowledge of building services, electrical systems, and design standards.
Technical Skills
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), Dialux/Relux, ETAP (advantage), and MS Office.
Strong understanding of DEWA/ADDC/SEWA regulations and submission processes.
Ability to prepare accurate calculations and technical documentation.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
