Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a closely related field with a focus on electrical design.
2. Certifications and Licenses
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is highly desirable.
UAE-specific certifications such as:
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) approval, and/or
Membership in the Society of Engineers - UAE.
3. Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the electromechanical contracting or related industries.
Proven experience working on:
High-rise buildings
Commercial projects
Large-scale infrastructure developments
Familiarity with project management in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) or electromechanical field is an added advantage.
4. Skills and Competencies
Design Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux and Amtech
Deep knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV), and High Voltage (HV).
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Strong grasp of electrical safety systems, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and earthing/grounding systems.
Communication and Collaboration:
Effective team player with strong coordination skills across engineering and project management teams.
5. Knowledge of Local Standards and Regulations
In-depth knowledge of UAE construction codes and electrical standards

BS 7671 (British Standard for Electrical Installations)
IEC Standards (International Electrotechnical Commission)
Ability to prepare and ensure designs comply with all applicable local and international safety regulations.
