Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and reviewing electrical system designs for building and infrastructure projects. The role includes preparing detailed design drawings, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, and ensuring compliance with international and local authority standards. The candidate should have strong design expertise in LV/MV systems, lighting, power distribution, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-current systems. Prepare design drawings, load schedules, and single-line diagrams using AutoCAD or Revit. Conduct electrical load calculations and sizing of transformers, cables, breakers, and other components. Review and coordinate designs with other disciplines (mechanical, architectural, civil, utilities). Ensure designs comply with project specifications, authority standards (Kahramaa, Ashghal, etc.), and international codes (IEC, NEC, BS). Support in preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and BOQs. Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and technical workshops. Provide technical support during design submissions and authority approvals. Maintain proper design documentation and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
Minimum 10 years of experience
in electrical design within consultancy/design environments. Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV systems, street lighting, and electrical utilities. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (Electrical), and design software such as ETAP or Dialux.Job Type: Full-time
