The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. This role requires a deep understanding of international standards (BS, IEC, NEC) and local Gulf regulations, with the authority to approve and stamp design drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure projects, including but not limited to:
Power Distribution Systems (LV/MV)
Lighting Systems (Internal & External)
Emergency Lighting and Power Systems (Generators, UPS)
Fire Alarm Systems
Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
Low Current Systems (ICT, Security, Access Control, BMS)
Prepare, review, and approve all electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BOQs using software such as AutoCAD, Dialux, ETAP, and Revit MEP.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant international codes (BS, IEC, IEEE, NFPA), local authority regulations (QCDD, Ashghal, ADDC, DEWA, etc.), and client requirements.
Liaise with local authorities for design submissions, approvals, and No Objection Certificates (NOCs), utilizing your UPDA Grade A certification to stamp and approve documents.
Coordinate effectively with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical) to ensure integrated and clash-free design.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
Review contractor submittals, material proposals, and method statements for technical compliance.
Participate in client meetings and present design proposals and technical solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Mandatory:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

UPDA (Urban Planning and Development Authority) Grade A
certification from Qatar,.
Minimum of
8-10 years
of proven experience in electrical design engineering, with a significant portion within the Gulf region.
In-depth experience with local authority regulations and approval processes (e.g., QCDD, Kahramaa, Dewa, ADDC).
Proficiency in engineering software: AutoCAD (essential), Dialux/Relux (essential), ETAP or similar (highly desirable), Revit MEP (highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of IEEE, IEC, BS, and NFPA standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
