Attach electrodes to patient's head to obtain brain activity readings. Operate equipment to record electrical activity of the brain readings. Monitor patient respiration, heart and brain activity during procedure. Prepare readings for interpretation by a physician. File reports, order supplies and maintain equipment.
Responsibilities: * Prepares and provides EEG clinic preparation for early morning.
- Ensure consent is taken prior to any procedure.
- Explain procedures to patient with support of his/her language with PRO department staff if needed to check about any contraindication to the procedure & inform the Doctor if any.
- Conducts EEG recordings, evoked response testing, polysomnographic recording, and monitoring of responses during patient testing.
- Participates in any QI activities and attend continuing education activity relevant to area of mandatory requirements.
- Maintains current knowledge of procedures and maintenance of new equipment and that all equipment's are properly maintained.
- Maintain the stock of disposables which is needed in the department.
- Maintains current knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital.
- Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested by the Head of the Department.
4.1 Diploma/Certificate in EEG Technology preferable certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologies, and 1-2 years experience as an EEG technician.
4.2 Current license in country of origin with MOH license to practice in Sharjah
4.3 Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience as an EEG technician.
4.4 Must be fluent in spoken & written English. Arabic speaking desirable but not essential.
