General Description of Role and Responsibilities: Evaluate macroeconomic and microeconomic trends that have a direct/indirect effect on the construction industry. This will include determinants and outlook for metal, gas/electricity and building material prices. Prepare written market insight reports and presentations to senior management, key clients and regional cost centres. Developed, analyzed, and maintained market analysis dashboards and reports. Supporting the development of new data-driven services, solutions and products Providing technical expertise, training and support to non-experts Liaise with and gather data and information from both technical and non-technical stakeholders both inside and outside the organization. Manage aspects of the economics research team and commissions as needed. Establish friendly and professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support. There is scope in this role to develop economic and market forecasts and models. This role reports to the program director. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: A bachelor's degree and experience in the same field. Masters in Economics, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics is preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience working on large-scale projects. Understanding of visual analytics software or Microsoft Power BI. Knowledge of econometric techniques: economic impact assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and forecasting models are desirable. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain economic concepts and quantitative results, as well as their implications, to non-specialists in plain English for a business audience. Proficiency in Excel. Ability to work using own initiative and without close supervision.
