Position Overview
The Ecommerce Category Manager role at GMG in Dubai focuses on driving category growth across digital platforms by executing data-led trading strategies, optimizing site merchandising, pricing, promotions, and omnichannel fulfilment. Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of ecommerce category strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities
  • Monitor category KPIs including GPV, UPT, conversion, and AOV, taking corrective actions where required
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports with data-driven action points
  • Manage daily trading operations including pricing, promotions, product readiness, and site merchandising
  • Conduct daily site and app checks covering product availability, links, and visual merchandising standards
  • Review onsite customer journeys to improve conversion funnels and user experience
  • Update homepage menus, filters, and navigation in line with campaigns and local market trends
  • Raise and test bugs, participate in UATs, and support rollout of new ecommerce features
  • Maintain and execute trading calendars aligned with retail and promotional campaigns
  • Coordinate content briefs and campaign readiness with relevant internal teams
  • Ensure alignment of ecommerce pricing and promotions with local retail calendars
  • Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activity
  • Oversee omnichannel fulfilment performance, addressing SLA risks and stock availability issues
  • Provide store-level and warehouse volume forecasts as required
  • Review size and inventory health across key categories and products
  • Partner with catalog and operations teams to ensure readiness for launches and seasonal ranges
  • Identify and manage product activation and deactivation based on commercial performance
  • Oversee inventory transfers across markets
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, supporting performance management and professional development
Ideal Profile
  • Experience in ecommerce category management, digital merchandising, or online retail operations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, and customer data
  • Proficiency with ecommerce platforms and CMS tools such as Salesforce, Akeneo, or similar systems
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills within MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, buying, merchandising, content, and operations teams
  • Experience working with product managers on issue resolution and user experience improvements
