Job Purpose:

Manage the EAF platform, outside the control room, and conduct all maintenance and preparatory work to ensure the continuity of the production process and flow according to the operating schedule and instructions of the EAF foreman and Pulpit operator.

Key Responsibilities:

Processes and Production Schedule Oversight

Tap the furnace to produce a flow of molten steel into the ladle when the furnace is tilted.
Repair minor damages to the furnace lining with fettling material applied by hand and participates with the Foreman in spraying the furnace walls.
Repair damaged furnace wall linings using the spin fettling machine in either the wet or dry mode.
Take samples and temperature measurement from the furnace molten steel contents.
Make additions of recarburizer, other (aluminum) and deoxidation alloys to the ladles, before or during tapping.
Repair and change tapholes by piping and securing with correct material.
Ensure all documentation on his work station is correctly completed.
Drive the forklift as necessary if qualified.
Operate gunning machine, fettling M/C, tap hole filing M/c in the correct sequence.
Repair the machine in case of breakdown.
Motivation and Employee Relations

Report all incidents (accident, damage, fire and environment) occurrences.
Pursue the HSE training.

Effective EAF operations.

Internal: All other relevant internal O&M functions.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school or technical degree.
EXPERIENCE:

10+ years' experience as an EAF (Floor) Operator.
SKILLS:

Use of Oxygen Lance.
Good English oral and written communication skills.

Pay: ?10,000.00 - ?13,250.00 per month
