The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining ductwork systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial and/or residential buildings. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Measure, cut, and assemble ductwork using hand and power tools.
Install ducts, vents, diffusers, and insulation as per project requirements.
Inspect and test duct systems for leaks and proper airflow.
Ensure all installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Collaborate with other construction or HVAC team members.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean worksite.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Ductman or similar role in HVAC installation.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and HVAC plans.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, duct fabrication, and installation techniques.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures.
Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Certification in HVAC or sheet metal work (preferred but not mandatory).
Working Conditions:
Work is performed on construction sites, rooftops, or indoor environments.
Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
