To fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and related sheet metal components for HVAC systems as per drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Assembly
Read and interpret HVAC drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required sizes using hand tools and machines (shears, rollers, brake press, plasma cutters, etc.).
Fabricate ducts, fittings, and accessories such as elbows, reducers, transitions, dampers, plenums, and grills.
Assemble ducts and fittings using welding, riveting, bolting, or other fastening methods.
Installation Support
Assist in installation of ductwork on-site when required.
Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and support of ductwork to avoid leakage and vibration.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all work meets project specifications, HVAC standards (e.g., SMACNA, DW144), and company quality procedures.
Check finished ducts for accuracy in dimensions, shape, and quality.
Minimize wastage of raw materials.
Tools & Safety
Operate and maintain fabrication equipment safely.
Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Report any unsafe conditions, faulty tools, or incidents immediately.
Teamwork & Reporting
Coordinate with supervisors, welders, helpers, and site teams for smooth workflow.
Maintain records of materials used, work completed, and time taken.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma / ITI Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical or related field.
Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a duct fabricator in HVAC industry.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques.
Ability to read and understand HVAC shop drawings.
Skilled in using fabrication tools and machinery.
Basic welding knowledge (TIG/MIG/Arc) is an advantage.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and handle sheet metal materials.
Standing, bending, and working with tools for extended periods.
