Job Description

Our client is a growing commodity trading firm with an active fertiliser trading desk. They are looking to hire a Fertiliser Operator to support the end-to-end execution of physical fertiliser trades, working closely with traders, counterparties, shipbrokers, inspectors, agents and internal finance teams.
This is a hands-on operational role focused on trade execution, logistics coordination, documentation and settlement, ensuring smooth delivery from contract to final discharge.
Key Responsibilities
Execute physical fertiliser trades in line with trader recaps and contractual terms.
Manage end-to-end logistics including vessel nominations, shipping instructions, loading and discharge coordination.
Liaise with shipowners, chartering desks, shipbrokers, agents, surveyors and inspectors.
Oversee documentation flow, including:
Sales & purchase contracts
Shipping documents (BLs, invoices, packing lists)
Letters of Credit (LCs) and document presentation
Coordinate with trade finance and banks on LC compliance, amendments and discrepancies.
Monitor laytime, demurrage and despatch, prepare calculations and support claims/settlements.
Track cargo movements, ETAs, ETDs and operational milestones.
Work closely with traders and middle/back office on pricing dates, P&L inputs and settlements.
Resolve operational issues and exceptions efficiently to minimise commercial and reputational risk.
Maintain accurate records and update internal systems and trackers.
