The Driver cum Messenger is responsible for driving a car to deliver and collect goods, documents, and packages within a designated area. This role also includes the responsibility of handling messenger tasks, such as delivering important documents, collecting paperwork, and running errands. The ideal candidate will be dependable, efficient, and capable of handling administrative tasks in addition to driving.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a car to deliver and pick up goods, packages, and documents to clients, vendors, or internal departments.
o Collect and deliver important documents, contracts, invoices, and parcels as requested.
o Visit Shipping Lines to collect Delivery Orders (DO) and Bill of Lading (BL) for shipments. o Verify the correct documentation and details before collection. o Precisely verify all paperwork before going to shipping lines.
o Ensure timely collection and proper handling of all shipping-related documents.
o Ensure documents are delivered promptly and securely, maintaining confidentiality when necessary. o Ensure the car is kept in clean, safe, and operational condition.
o Conduct basic checks on the vehicle (fuel, tire pressure, oil, etc.) and report any maintenance issues.
o Ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for use before starting work each day.
o Keep records of vehicle mileage and maintenance as required. o Schedule monthly car cleaning service. o Collect trip sheets from drivers.
o Interact professionally and courteously with clients, customers, and colleagues.
o Answer basic queries related to delivery or collection schedules.
o Resolve any issues or delays during deliveries or collections promptly and professionally. o Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trips.
Drop and pick office staff from accommodation.
o Drop and collect documents from any said location.
o Collect payments and issue receipts.
o Follow all traffic laws and road safety regulations to ensure the safety of all involved.
o Comply with company policies regarding vehicle use, maintenance, and delivery procedures. o Wear required safety gear and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
o Coordinate with office staff and execute all allocated tasks as required.
o Other duties and responsibilities assigned by Higher Authorities o This role may involve occasional weekend or evening work, depending on operational requirements.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record with no history of accidents or traffic violations.
Prior experience as a driver cum messenger in a similar role is preferred.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
Strong organizational and time management skills. o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Dependable and punctual. o Ability to handle pressure and tight deadlines.
Adaptable and able to work under changing circumstances.
