Responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans used in construction, engineering, and architecture. They transform concepts, sketches, and specifications into precise drawings using CAD (computer-aided design) software or by hand. Draughtsmen/draughtswomen work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate and functional designs that meet project requirements and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).
Interpret architectural, engineering, or mechanical designs and transform them into technical drawings.
Revise drawings based on feedback and specifications from engineers or architects.
Ensure all drawings and plans are in compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
Collaborate with project teams to clarify design requirements and resolve any drawing-related issues.
Maintain organized files and records of drawings and revisions.
Estimate material requirements and assist with bill of quantities (BoQ) preparation.
Stay updated on industry trends and software developments.
Qualifications:
Diploma or certification in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD is often essential).
Strong understanding of design and engineering principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with BIM software (like Revit) is a plus.
Experience in the relevant industry (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
