Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Landscape Draughtsman to produce high-quality, accurate, and detailed technical drawings and plans for a variety of landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of horticulture, hardscape construction, and grading principles, and will be proficient in the latest CAD software. You will work closely with our Landscape Designers and Architects to transform conceptual designs into buildable construction documents.
Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drafting & Detailing:
• Create detailed landscape construction drawings, including layout plans, grading and drainage plans, irrigation plans, lighting plans, and hardscape details.
• Produce detailed sections, elevations, and custom construction details for walls, fences, decks, water features, and other landscape structures.
• Develop planting plans with accurate symbols, schedules, and quantities.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, industry best practices, and local authority regulations.
• Design Support & Development:
• Collaborate with Landscape Designers to develop and refine conceptual ideas into technical drawings.
• Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, including 2D and 3D visualizations, for client meetings.
• Perform site analysis and incorporate survey data into base plans.
• Project Coordination:
• Work with project managers and site foremen to clarify details and resolve design issues during the construction phase.
• Review and incorporate red-line mark-ups from designers, architects, and engineers.
• Help in preparing material take-offs and cost estimates based on drawn plans.
• Software & Workflow Management:
• Manage and organize digital drawing files and project documentation.
• Stay updated on new drafting technologies and software updates to improve efficiency and quality.

• Essential:
• A minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience as a Draughtsman, specifically within the landscaping, civil engineering, or architecture industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in other relevant software such as SketchUp, Lumion, Twinmotion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of landscape construction techniques, materials, and horticulture.
• Solid understanding of grading, drainage principles, and irrigation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret topographic surveys, civil engineering drawings, and architectural plans.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free work.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Preferred:
• An associate or bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or LandFX is a significant advantage.
• Experience in creating 3D models and renderings for client presentations.
• Knowledge of local municipal planning and permitting processes.
