JOB PURPOSE

The jobholder will be responsible to convert 3D designs into technical drawings using dedicated software. The jobholder will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the drawings match the technical specification.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Engineering Solutions Design: Implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions, under supervision, to provide feedback and contribute to validation of the design.



Engineering Drawings: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to create engineering drawings for the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.



Testing: Develop testing standards and procedures under the direction of professional colleagues



Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out a range of product development and engineering activities, such as analysing client situations or interpreting data.



Solutions Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.



Operational Compliance | Quality Assurance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.



Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others, and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats.

Span of Communication

Internal: General Manager Machinery, All Machinery Team Members; FPI Operating units. External: Manufacturer team.

Identify all practicable drawings options and decide on the best one.

Skills

Required Qualifications:

3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

Preferred Experience:

DME 2-3 years of experience in Machinery Design BME Experience not required.

Job-Specific Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment is an added advantage. Professional certification in mechanical design or a related field is an added advantage.

COMPETENCIES

Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadlinedriven environment. Good communication skills - English is a must
