We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Draftsman with strong joinery experience to create accurate technical drawings and plans for custom woodwork and interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of woodworking materials, construction techniques, and shop fabrication processes, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed shop drawings and production drawings for custom joinery items (e.g., cabinets, wardrobes, doors, furniture, wall paneling).
Coordinate with project managers, architects, and site teams to understand design requirements and translate them into technical drawings.
Develop accurate cutting lists, material take-offs, and fabrication details for workshop production.
Ensure drawings meet client specifications, project standards, and quality expectations.
Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, site conditions, or design changes.
Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions.
Conduct site visits to verify measurements and coordinate with installation teams as needed.
Assist in resolving technical and design issues related to joinery and interior fit-out works.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3-5 years of drafting experience in the joinery or interior fit-out industry.
Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of other drafting or 3D software (e.g., SketchUp, Revit) is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery details, and materials (e.g., MDF, veneer, plywood, solid wood).
Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and workshop practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with CNC files and machine-compatible drawings.
Knowledge of fire-rated doors and compliance with safety codes.
Ability to visualize and model complex joinery components in 3D.
Understanding of project timelines and coordination with procurement and production teams.
