Job Opening: Joinery Draftsman (with Estimation & Site Coordination Skills)

We're looking for a

versatile and proactive Draftsman

who can support not just technical drawing needs, but also contribute to project efficiency by assisting in

material take-offs, cost optimization, site surveys, and basic project support

.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate 2D AutoCAD shop drawings for custom furniture and joinery items. Create detailed production drawings, cutting lists, and assembly diagrams. Conduct site measurements and generate as-built drawings. Assist in preparing BOQs and material take-offs based on designs. Use optimization tools to reduce material waste and assist with cutting layouts. Coordinate with designers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure drawing clarity. Prepare documentation for client/consultant submittals. Support the procurement team by specifying material needs and hardware lists. Provide support to installation teams during site execution as required. Assist with basic cost estimation and quotation preparation.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years' experience in joinery/interior fit-out companies in the UAE or GCC. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

is mandatory; knowledge of SketchUp, 3D tools, or CNC-compatible drawing is a plus. Strong understanding of materials (MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates) and woodworking techniques. Ability to read architectural and ID drawings and translate them into shop drawings. Experience in

site surveying

BOQ preparation

basic costing

. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
